Borek
is kind of filled pastry made by layering thin sheets of yufka (a thicker version of phyllo dough) with ingredients such as
cheese, mince and spinach. Depending on the variation, the layers can be
brushed with butter for crispness or boiled like pasta. Commonly served as
breakfast or afternoon snack, it is a popular dish in the Balkans, Greece,
African and Middle Eastern countries.
